EARN now reaches as far as Mexico

The EARN network continues to grow: with the admission of the Spanish law firm Medina Cuadros Abogados (MCA), headquartered in Madrid, the members have not only gained a partner with offices in all major Spanish financial centres, but also with a branch in Mexico City, from where all Latin American-related cases are handled.

At present, there is a wealth of EU legislation which relates to the law governing an agreement between parties and the court, which will rule on any dispute arising from that agreement. However, as the UK’s leaving date from the EU draws ever nearer, these rules are subject to change and therefore need to be considered by companies entering into commercial contracts.

EU simplifies recognition of public documents in other EU countries

More and more people are moving to another EU country for professional or private reasons. A move abroad brings with it a multitude of bureaucratic hurdles. Since 16 February 2019, new EU-wide rules have been in force which put an end to the previous administrative procedure for the recognition of public documents.
